The Keokuk Fire Department is a full service Fire & Rescue Team. The department is comprised of 19 full time members. Each shift has 6 personnel consisting of an Assistant Chief, Lieutenant and 4 Firefighters. The Keokuk Fire Department began its full time status in 1878. The Chief of the department serves as the Administrative Head and is directed by the Mayor of the city.
The members of the Keokuk Fire Department are dedicated to providing a professional and proficient Public Safety Service to the citizens and visitors of the community. The department responds to an average of 1500 calls for service annually.
