The Keokuk Animal Services facility at 249 Carbide Lane is open to the public Monday through Friday from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.

Keokuk’s Animal Control Officer is available from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

Keokuk’s Animal Control Officer is Eric L. Lindley.  Officer Lindley is Nationally Certified by the National Animal Control Association.  National Certification training included:  animal behavior, capture techniques, shelter operations, report writing, animal diseases, documenting crime scenes, investigative procedures, blood sport investigation, officer safety and survival tactics, defensive driving, constitutional law, civil liability, search warrant applications and procedure, public speaking, dealing with the media, and stress management.  Officer Lindley has served as Keokuk’s Animal Control Officer since 1996.

Shelter personnel include three part-time employees.
